As today’s route takes you through North Cornwall and North Devon, you’ll find a lot to enjoy along the winding roads and windswept cliffs. Sea views can become a little more elusive but well worth the wait when they arrive.
Bodmin Moor is delightful, and there are many typical Cornish fishing villages along the way – including Port Isaac, home to British TV’s Doc Martin. Another point of interest to note is Westward Ho! – the only place in the British Isles with an exclamation mark as part of its name.
Then up and round to the Combe House Hotel near Bridgwater in Somerset.
