Stage 6 - Criccieth to Lytham St Annes

From Criccieth we travelled through North Wales, Cheshire and Lancashire, with plenty of interest along the way.

We passed close by the Menai Bridge, access way to Anglesey, the supposed last Druid settlement to hold out against encroaching Romans.

Literary lovers may be interested to note that Preston is linked with two famous writers, albeit from rather different genres. Preston is the birthplace of Angela Brazil, prolific author of schoolgirl tales, and where Anthony Burgess, of Clockwork Orange fame, lectured for a time.

The Glendower Hotel, right on the Promenade at Lytham St Annes, awaited our participants.
